S.F. 415 Section 1. MEDICAID PROGRAM COVERAGE —— ANTI-ADDICTION 1 MEDICATION. The department of health and humans services shall 2 require, under both Medicaid fee-for-service administration and 3 Medicaid managed care organization administration, the coverage 4 of medications used to treat substance use disorders up to the 5 maximum daily dose approved by the United States food and drug 6 administration and as indicated based on the patient’s medical 7 condition and response to treatment. 8 EXPLANATION 9 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 10 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 11 This bill requires Medicaid coverage for medications used 12 to treat substance use disorders up to the maximum daily dose 13 approved by the United States food and drug administration and 14 as indicated by the patient’s medical condition and response 15 to treatment. 16 -1- LSB 2341XS (1) 90 pf/rh 1/ 1
