S.F. 257 Section 1. CAPITOL PLANNING COMMISSION —— WALLACE STATE 1 OFFICE BUILDING REPORT. The capitol planning commission, 2 created in section 8A.371, shall conduct a study to consider 3 alternative names for the state office building located at 4 502 East Ninth street, currently named the Henry A. Wallace 5 building. The building was named the Henry A. Wallace building 6 pursuant to 1975 Iowa Acts, chapter 62. The capitol planning 7 commission shall submit a written report to the general 8 assembly, with findings and a recommendation on an alternative 9 name for the state office building, by December 15, 2023. 10 EXPLANATION 11 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 12 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 13 This bill requires the capitol planning commission to 14 conduct a study and submit a written report to the general 15 assembly by December 15, 2023, recommending an alternative name 16 for the Henry A.
