S.F. 2343 Section 1. Section 805.8C, subsection 12, Code 2024, is 1 amended to read as follows: 2 12. Trespassing violations. For trespasses punishable under 3 section 716.8, subsection 1 or 5 , the scheduled fine is two 4 hundred sixty five hundred dollars for a first violation, six 5 hundred forty-five one thousand dollars for a second violation, 6 and one thousand two hundred eighty-five five hundred dollars 7 for a third or subsequent violation. 8 EXPLANATION 9 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 10 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 11 This bill relates to certain trespassing violations and 12 associated scheduled fines. 13 The bill increases fines for a person knowingly trespassing 14 upon the property of another, or who commits a trespass while 15 hunting deer. The bill provides that the scheduled fine is 16 $500 for a first violation, $1,000 for a second violation, and 17 $1,500 for a third or subsequent violation. 18 -1- LSB 5045SV (1) 90 as/js 1/ 1
