S.F. 2196 Section 1. Section 139A.8, subsection 4, Code 2024, is 1 amended by adding the following new paragraph: 2 NEW PARAGRAPH . c. Information regarding exemptions and 3 the requirements for an exemption under this subsection 4 shall be included in any public communication following the 5 recommendation of an immunization by the department pursuant to 6 subsection 2, shall be included in any communication regarding 7 immunizations to a parent or legal guardian from a school, 8 and shall be published on the internet sites of and included 9 in registration documentation for all elementary schools, 10 secondary schools, and licensed child care centers. 11 EXPLANATION 12 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 13 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 14 This bill amends Code section 139A.8 (immunization of 15 children) to require that information regarding exemptions 16 and the requirements for an exemption shall be included in 17 any public communication following the recommendation of an 18 immunization by the department of health and human services, 19 shall be included in any communication regarding immunizations 20 to a parent or legal guardian from a school, and shall be 21 published on the internet sites of and included in registration 22 documentation for all elementary schools, secondary schools, 23 and licensed child care centers. 24 -1- LSB 5414SV (2) 90 pf/ko 1/ 1
