Section
154B.6,
subsection
1,
Code
2024,
is

amended
by
adding
the
following
new
paragraph:

effective

for
licensure
as
a
psychologist
shall
have

completed
three
credit
hours
of
graduate-level
courses
related

to
domestic
violence.

154C.3,
subsection

Code
2024,
is
amended

by
adding
the

paragraph:

On
or
after

the
effective
date
of
this
Act,

applicant
for
a

this
chapter
shall
have
completed
three
credit
hours
of

graduate-level
courses
related
to
domestic
violence.

154D.2,
subsection
1,
Code
2024,
is
amended

by
adding
the
following
new
paragraph:

practice
marital
and
family

therapy
or
mental
health
counseling
shall
have
completed
three

credit
hours
of
graduate-level
courses

NEW
SECTION

272C.2D
Continuing
education
minimum

requirements
——
psychology,
social
work,
marital
and
family

therapy,
and
mental
health
counseling.

The
board
of
psychology,
board
of
social
work,
and
board

of
behavioral
science
shall
adopt
rules
requiring
a
person
24
licensed
pursuant
to
section
154B.6,
154C.3,
or
154D.2
to
25
complete
two
hours
of
continuing
education
credits
relating
to
26
domestic
violence
as
a
condition
of
license
renewal.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the

substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
relates
to
requirements
for
the
issuance
and

renewal
of
a
license
to
practice
psychology,
social
work,

and
family
therapy,
or
mental
health
counseling.
The

bill
requires
that
an
applicant
for
a
license
to
practice

work,

family
therapy,

the
effective

the
bill

The
bill
also
requires
the
boards
of

psychology,
social
work,
and
behavioral
science
to
require

licensees
to
complete
two
hours
of
continuing
education
5
credits
relating
to
domestic
violence
as
a
condition
of
license

renewal.
