Have either a North American industry classification 3 system number within the manufacturing sector range of 31-33 , 4 or have the North American industry classification system 5 number 111422, floriculture production . 6 EXPLANATION 7 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 8 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 9 This bill relates to floriculture production and the 10 manufacturing 4.0 technology investment program (program). 11 Under the program, the economic development authority may 12 award financial assistance to eligible manufacturers for 13 manufacturing 4.0 technology investments. Manufacturing 4.0 14 technology investments are projects intended to lead to the 15 adoption of, and integration of, smart technologies into 16 existing manufacturing operations by mitigating the risk 17 to the manufacturer of significant technology investments. 18 Projects may include investments in specialized hardware, 19 software, or other equipment intended to assist a manufacturer 20 in increasing the manufacturer’s productivity, efficiency, and 21 competitiveness. 22 Under current law, a manufacturer must have a North 23 American industry classification system number (NAICS) in the 24 manufacturing range of 31-33 to meet one of the eligibility 25 requirements for the program.
