H.F. 514 Section 1. Section 607A.8, subsection 1, Code 2023, is 1 amended to read as follows: 2 1. A grand juror and a petit juror in all courts shall 3 receive thirty sixty dollars as compensation for each day’s 4 service or attendance, including attendance required for the 5 purpose of being considered for service. The supreme court may 6 adopt rules that allow additional compensation for jurors whose 7 attendance and service exceeds seven days. 8 EXPLANATION 9 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 10 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 11 This bill increases the amount a grand juror or a petit juror 12 is compensated for jury service or attendance from $30 to $60 13 per day. 14 -1- LSB 2404YH (2) 90 cm/ns 1/ 1
