H.F. 505 Section 1. NEW SECTION . 476.85 Utility meters. 1 A public utility shall not charge a customer an additional 2 fee associated with the cost of the installation or replacement 3 of a meter installed by the utility to measure a customer’s 4 usage of a utility’s services. All costs incurred in the 5 installation or replacement of a meter shall be paid by the 6 utility. 7 EXPLANATION 8 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 9 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 10 This bill relates to meter installation or replacement by a 11 utility. 12 The bill provides that a utility shall not charge a customer 13 a fee for the installation or replacement of a meter that 14 measures the customer’s usage of a utility’s services.
