The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

explanation’s

the
members

the
general
assembly.

This
bill
authorizes
school
districts,
accredited
nonpublic
8
schools,
and
charter
schools
to
pay
stipends
to
student
9
teachers.
The
bill
limits
the
amount
of
the
stipend
to
an
10
amount
not
more
than
the
lowest
annual
salary
the
school
pays
11
to
a
teacher
employed
by
the
school,
prorated
to
the
number
of
12
days
the
student
is
present
at
the
school
during
the
student
13
teaching
experience.
The
bill
makes
conforming
changes
to
14
Code
section
294.1
(teacher
qualifications
and
compensation
15
prohibitions).
