H.F. 2563 Section 1. Section 364.7, Code 2024, is amended by adding 1 the following new subsection: 2 NEW SUBSECTION . 4. A city may only sell real property 3 appraised over one million dollars by submitting a proposition 4 to the electorate of the city at the next general election to 5 dispose of the real property. The proposition must receive 6 an affirmative vote of a majority of the votes cast on the 7 question for the city to sell the specified real property. 8 EXPLANATION 9 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 10 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 11 This bill relates to the disposal of real property owned by a 12 city. The bill provides that for a city to sell real property 13 appraised over $1 million, the city must submit a proposition 14 to the electorate of the city at the next general election 15 to sell the real property.
