H.F. 2034 Section 1. Section 10A.523, Code 2024, is amended by adding 1 the following new subsection: 2 NEW SUBSECTION . 4. The rules adopted by the director under 3 this section shall provide a process for a building in which no 4 more than fifty students subject to an exemption granted under 5 section 299.24 are educated to be exempted from the state fire 6 code. 7 EXPLANATION 8 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 9 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 10 This bill requires that administrative rules adopted by 11 the director of the department of inspections, appeals, and 12 licensing that establish the state fire code provide a process 13 for a building in which no more than 50 students subject to 14 an exemption granted under Code section 299.24 are educated 15 to be exempted from the state fire code.
