S.F. _____ Section 1. PSYCHIATRIC INTENSIVE INPATIENT CARE 1 REIMBURSEMENT —— MEDICAID. No later than January 1, 2023, the 2 department of human services shall implement a tiered rate 3 reimbursement methodology for psychiatric intensive inpatient 4 care under the Medicaid program based on the level of patient 5 acuity and other factors as recommended in the inpatient bed 6 tracking study committee report submitted to the governor and 7 the general assembly on December 1, 2021, and contingent upon 8 a provider’s compliance with the state’s real-time inpatient 9 psychiatric bed tracking system. 10 EXPLANATION 11 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 12 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 13 This bill requires the department of human services, 14 no later than January 1, 2023, to implement a tiered rate 15 reimbursement methodology for psychiatric intensive inpatient 16 care under the Medicaid program based on the level of patient 17 acuity and other factors as recommended in the inpatient bed 18 tracking study committee report submitted to the governor and 19 the general assembly on December 1, 2021, and contingent upon 20 a provider’s compliance with the state’s real-time inpatient 21 psychiatric bed tracking system. 22 -1- LSB 6224XC (2) 89 pf/rh 1/ 1
