is

amended
by
adding
the
following
new
paragraph:

(1)
Adopt
rules
for
the
issuance
of

a
medical
cannabidiol
registration
card
to
an
educational
4
institution
or
long-term
care
facility
allowing
employees
of
5
the
institution
or
facility
to
administer
medical
cannabidiol
6
to
patients
attending
the
educational
institution
or
in
the
7
care
of
the
long-term
care
facility.

(2)
For
the
purposes
of
this
paragraph,
“educational
9
institution”
means
a
public
or
private
elementary
school,
10
secondary
school,
technical
or
vocational
school,
community
11
college,
college,
or
university,
and
“long-term
care
facility”
12
means
a
health
care
facility
as
defined
in
section
135C.1,
an
13
elder
group
home
as
defined
in
section
231B.1,
or
an
assisted
14
living
program
as
defined
in
section
231C.2.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does

constitute

the
members

the
general

This
bill
relates
to
the
administration
of
medical
19
cannabidiol
by
employees
of
educational
institutions
and
20
long-term
care
facilities,
both
defined
in
the
bill.
The
bill
21
requires
the
department
of
public
health
to
adopt
rules
for
22
the
issuance
of
a
medical
cannabidiol
registration
card
to
an
23
educational
institution
or
long-term
care
facility
to
allow
24
the
employees
of
such
an
institution
or
facility
to
administer
25
medical
cannabidiol
to
patients
attending
the
institution
or
in
26
the
care
of
the
facility.
