S.F. _____ Section 1. Section 92.8, subsection 10, Code 2022, is 1 amended to read as follows: 2 10. Occupations involved in the operation of certain 3 power-driven bakery machines. However, this subsection 4 does not apply to the operation of pizza dough rollers that 5 are a type of dough sheeter that have been constructed with 6 safeguards contained in the basic design so as to prevent 7 fingers, hands, or clothing from being caught in the in-running 8 point of the rollers, that have gears that are completely 9 enclosed, and that have microswitches that disengage the 10 machinery if the backs or sides of the rollers are removed. 11 EXPLANATION 12 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 13 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 14 This bill creates an exception to the provision that a 15 person under the age of 18 is prohibited from working at an 16 occupation involved in the operation of certain power-driven 17 bakery machines by allowing a person under the age of 18 to 18 operate power-driven pizza dough rollers that are equipped with 19 certain safety features. 20 -1- LSB 5621XC (2) 89 ec/rn 1/ 1
