S.F. _____ Section 1. Section 13A.3, subsection 1, paragraph c, Code 1 2021, is amended to read as follows: 2 c. Three Two members elected by the Iowa county attorneys 3 association or its successor. 4 Sec. 2. Section 13A.3, subsection 1, Code 2021, is amended 5 by adding the following new paragraph: 6 NEW PARAGRAPH . d. A member of the general public appointed 7 by the governor. 8 Sec. 3. Section 13A.6, Code 2021, is amended to read as 9 follows: 10 13A.6 Report required. 11 The prosecuting attorneys training coordinator shall make 12 an annual report to the attorney general, the governor, and to 13 the Iowa county attorneys association or its successor , and 14 the general assembly regarding the efforts of the office to 15 implement the purposes of this chapter . 16 EXPLANATION 17 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 18 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 19 This bill relates to the prosecuting attorneys training 20 coordinator and council. 21 The bill reduces the number of members of the prosecuting 22 attorneys training coordination council elected by the Iowa 23 county attorneys association from three members to two members. 24 The bill provides that one member of the council shall be a 25 member of the general public appointed by the governor. 26 The bill provides that the prosecuting attorneys training 27 coordinator shall make an annual report to the general assembly 28 as well as to the attorney general, the governor, and the Iowa 29 county attorneys association or its successor. 30 -1- LSB 1590XC (1) 89 as/rh 1/ 1
