Senate Resolution 116 - Introduced SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 116 BY COMMITTEE ON RULES AND ADMINISTRATION A Resolution honoring Senator Craig Johnson for his 1 service in the Iowa Senate. 2 WHEREAS, Senator Craig Johnson was first elected to 3 the Iowa Senate in November 2016; and 4 WHEREAS, Senator Johnson’s work in construction, 5 management, and investment took him from Antarctica 6 back to his hometown of Independence, Iowa, where he 7 worked tirelessly through Vision Iowa to help build the 8 Heartland Acres Agribition Center; and 9 WHEREAS, during his legislative tenure, Senator 10 Johnson has served on a variety of legislative 11 committees, including the Appropriations, Commerce, 12 Education, Human Resources, Judiciary, and State 13 Government (Vice Chairperson) standing committees; 14 the Transportation, Infrastructure, and Capital 15 Appropriations Subcommittee (Chair); and the State 16 Government Efficiency Review Committee; and 17 WHEREAS, Senator Johnson has also served on the 18 Capitol Planning Commission; and 19 WHEREAS, Senator Johnson was a founding member of 20 the Independence Area Dollars for Scholars, which he 21 continues to support; and 22 WHEREAS, Senator Johnson was selected as the 23 Iowa Restaurant Association’s 2020 Legislator of the 24 Year; NOW THEREFORE, 25 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the Senate honors 26 Senator Craig Johnson for his years of service in the 27 Iowa Senate, and wishes him all the best in the years 28 -1- LSB 6259SV (2) 89 ss/rn 1/ 2
