Senate Resolution 113 - Introduced SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 113 BY COMMITTEE ON RULES AND ADMINISTRATION A Resolution honoring Senator Tim Goodwin for his years 1 of service in the Iowa Senate. 2 WHEREAS, Senator Tim Goodwin was raised in the 3 Danville and Burlington area, graduating from 4 Burlington High School, attending the University 5 of Iowa on a baseball scholarship, and earning a 6 bachelor’s degree in physical education and a master’s 7 degree in sports management from Western Illinois 8 University; and 9 WHEREAS, Senator Goodwin began his professional 10 career in public relations working for the Boston 11 Celtics and the New York Knicks of the National 12 Basketball Association; and 13 WHEREAS, Senator Goodwin returned to Iowa to pursue 14 a career in education, serving as a teacher and a coach 15 for 5 years and a high school administrator for 10 16 years throughout southeast Iowa; and 17 WHEREAS, Senator Goodwin was first elected to the 18 Iowa Senate in 2020 to represent District 44, which 19 includes all of Des Moines and Louisa counties and 20 portions of Muscatine County; and 21 WHEREAS, during his legislative tenure, Senator 22 Goodwin has served on the Commerce, Education, State 23 Government, and Ways and Means (Vice Chairperson) 24 standing committees; the Administration and Regulation 25 Appropriations Subcommittee; and the Tax Expenditure 26 and Public Retirement Systems committees; and 27 WHEREAS, Senator Goodwin also served on the 28 -1- LSB 6257SV (4) 89 js/rn 1/ 2
