Senator
Jim
Carlin
was
first
elected
to
the

Iowa
House
of
Representatives
in
2016
and
to
the
Iowa

Senate
in
2017
representing
District
3,
which
covers
5
portions
of
Plymouth
and
Woodbury
counties;
and
6
WHEREAS,
through
his
service
with
the
United
States
7
Army
and
over
20
years’
work
as
a
trial
attorney,
8
Senator
Carlin
brought
an
extensive
legal
background
9
and
knowledge
of
veterans
issues
to
the
Senate;
and
10
WHEREAS,
during
his
time
in
the
Senate,
Senator
11
Carlin
has
fought
for
fiscal
responsibility,
tax
12
reform,
and
restraints
on
government,
and
defended
the
13
rights
and
freedom
of
Iowans;
and

WHEREAS,
during
his
Senate
tenure,
Senator
Carlin

has
served
on
the
Education,
Ethics
(Vice
Chairperson),

Human
Resources,
Labor
and
Business
Relations,

Natural
Resources
and
Environment,
State
Government,

Veterans

the
