S.J.R. 2001 Section 1. The following amendment to the Constitution of 1 the State of Iowa is proposed: 2 Article I of the Constitution of the State of Iowa is amended 3 by adding the following new section: 4 Sec. 27. The right to medical freedom. The right of a 5 person to refuse any medical procedure, treatment, injection, 6 vaccine, or prophylactic shall not be questioned or interfered 7 with in any manner. Equality of rights under the law shall not 8 be denied or abridged to any person in this state because of 9 the exercise of the right under this section. 10 Sec. 2. REFERRAL AND PUBLICATION. The foregoing proposed 11 amendment to the Constitution of the State of Iowa is referred 12 to the general assembly to be chosen at the next general 13 election for members of the general assembly, and shall be 14 published as provided by law for three consecutive months 15 previous to the date of that election. 16 EXPLANATION 17 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 18 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 19 This joint resolution proposes an amendment to the 20 Constitution of the State of Iowa specifying that the right of 21 a person to refuse any medical procedure, treatment, injection, 22 vaccine, or prophylactic shall not be questioned or interfered 23 with in any manner.
