Section
1.
The
following
amendment
to
the
Constitution
of
1
the
State
of
Iowa
is
proposed:

Article
I
of
the
Constitution
of
the
State
of
Iowa
is
amended
3
by
adding
the
following
new
section:
4
Sec.
24A.
Preservation
of
hunting,
trapping,
and
fishing
5
heritage.
Hunting,
trapping,
fishing,
and
the
taking
of
game
6
and
fish,
including
by
use
of
traditional
methods,
are
a
valued
7
part
of
our
heritage
that
shall
be
forever
preserved
for
the
8
people
and
shall
be
managed
by
law
and
regulation
for
the
9
public
good.

Sec.
2.
REFERRAL
AND
PUBLICATION.
The
foregoing
proposed
11
amendment
to
the
Constitution
of
the
State
of
Iowa
is
referred
12
to
the
general
assembly
to
be
chosen
at
the
next
general
13
election
for
members
of
the
general
assembly,
and
shall
be
14
published
as
provided
by
law
for
three
months
previous
to
the
15
date
of
that
election.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with
18
the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
joint
resolution
proposes
an
amendment
to
the
20
Constitution
of
the
State
of
Iowa
providing
that
hunting,
21
trapping,
fishing,
and
the
taking
of
game
and
fish,
including
22
by
use
of
traditional
methods,
are
a
valuable
part
of
our
23
heritage
that
shall
be
forever
preserved
for
the
people
and

shall
be
managed
by
law
and
regulation
for
the

good.

The
resolution,
if
adopted,
would
be
published
and
then

referred
to
the
next
general
assembly
(90th)
for
adoption,

before
being
submitted
to
the
electorate
for
ratification.
