The
interstate
74
bridge
crossing
the
Mississippi
river

this
state
and
the
state
of
Illinois
shall
be
known
in

this
state
as
the
“World
War
I
veterans
memorial
and
captain

William
“Hawk”
Albracht
bridge”
in
memory
of
the
veterans
of
6
World
War
I
and
to
recognize
and
honor
captain
William
“Hawk”
7
Albracht,
who
was
awarded
three
silver
stars,
three
purple
8
hearts,
and
five
bronze
stars
for
his
actions
in
the
Vietnam
9
War.

2.
The
department
may
erect
and
maintain
signs
indicating
11
the
designation.

Sec.
2.
APPLICABILITY.
This
Act
applies
to
the
segment
of
13
the
interstate
74
bridge
in
Iowa
as
described
in
this
Act
on
14
the
effective
date
of
this
Act,
and
shall
apply
to
the
segment
15
of
that
bridge
thereafter
regardless
of
whether
the
highway’s
16
designation
as
interstate
74
is
subsequently
changed
by
the
17
government
of
the
United
States.

EXPLANATION
19
The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with
20
the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
provides
that
the
interstate
74
bridge
crossing
22
the
Mississippi
river
between
Iowa
and
Illinois
shall
be
23
known
in
Iowa
as
the
“World
War
I
veterans
memorial
and
24
captain
William
“Hawk”
Albracht
bridge”.
The
bill
allows
25
the
department
of
transportation
to
erect
and
maintain
signs
26
indicating
the
designation.
27
The
bill
applies
to
the
segment
of
the
interstate
74
bridge
28
in
Iowa
on
the
effective
date
of
the
bill,
and
applies
to
29
the
segment
thereafter
regardless
of
whether
the
highway’s
30
designation
as
interstate
74
is
subsequently
changed
by
the
31
U.S.
government.
