S.F. 424 apprenticeship program that meets certain federal requirements 1 and if the person submits an application to the appropriate 2 board. The bill allows a board to impose the same requirements 3 regarding examinations and the payment of fees that the board 4 imposes on an applicant who has completed an educational 5 program. The bill does 8 not change the provisions for apprenticeship programs for 9 licenses under Code chapter 103 (electricians and electrical 10 contractors) or Code chapter 105 (plumbers, mechanical 11 professionals, and contractors). 12 The bill defines “apprenticeship program” as a program 13 registered with the Untied States department of labor, office 14 of apprenticeship, which includes terms and conditions for the 15 qualification, recruitment, selection, employment, and training 16 of apprentices, including the requirement for a written 17 apprenticeship agreement. 18 The bill takes effect January 1, 2022. 19 -2- LSB 2226SV (4) 89 ss/rh 2/ 2
