2021,
is
amended
to
read
as
follows:

f.
“Eligible
program”
means
a
program
of
study
or
an

academic
major
jointly
approved
by
the
commission
and
the
4
department
of
workforce
development,
in
consultation
with
an
5
eligible
institution,
that
leads
to
a
credential
aligned
with
a
6
high-demand
job
designated
by
the
workforce
development
board
7
or
a
community
college
pursuant
to
section
84A.1B,
subsection
8
14
.
If
the
board
or
a
community
college
removes
a
high-demand
9
job
from
a
list
created
under
section
84A.1B,
subsection
14
,
10
an
eligible
student
who
received
a
scholarship
for
a
program
11
based
on
that
high-demand
job
shall
continue
to
receive
the
12
scholarship
until
achieving
a
postsecondary
credential,
up
to
13
an
associate
degree,
as
long
as
the
student
continues
to
meet
14
all
other
eligibility
requirements.
“Eligible
program”
also
15
means
a
program
of
study
or
an
academic
major
at
a
community
16
college
that
leads
to
a
credential
aligned
with
a
job
in
early
17
childhood
education.

This
bill
amends
the
definition
of
“eligible
program”
for

purposes
of
the
future
ready
Iowa
skilled
workforce
last-dollar
23
scholarship
program
to
provide
that
an
eligible
program
at
a
24
community
college
shall
also
include
a
program
of
study
or
an
25
academic
major
that
leads
to
a
credential
aligned
with
a
job
26
in
early
childhood
education.
27
Currently,
“eligible
program”
means
a
program
of
study
or
28
an
academic
major
that
leads
to
a
credential
aligned
with
a
29
high-demand
job
as
designated
by
the
workforce
development
30
board
or
a
community
college.
In
creating
a
list
of
31
high-demand
jobs,
certain
criteria
must
be
met,
including
an
32
entry-level
hourly
wage
of
not
less
than
$14.
