1.
The
department
of
education,
in
collaboration
with
3
the
department
of
public
health,
shall
convene
and
provide
4
administrative
support
to
a
working
group
that
shall
examine
5
research
related
to
the
impact
of
technology
on
the
cognitive
6
function
of
students.

2.
Any
expenses
incurred
by
a
member
of
the
working
group
8
shall
be
the
responsibility
of
the
individual
member
or
the
9
respective
entity
represented
by
the
member.

3.
The
working
group
shall
submit
its
findings
and
11
recommendations
in
a
report
to
the
general
assembly
by
December
12
31,
2022.
The
report
shall
include
recommendations
on
best
13
practices
related
to
the
use
of
technology
in
educational
14
settings
with
a
focus
on
ways
to
mitigate
technology’s
negative
15
impacts
on
social
and
behavioral
development,
attention
span,
16
and
other
cognitive
functions.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
directs
the
department
of
education,
in
21
collaboration
with
the
department
of
public
health,
to
convene
22
a
working
group
to
examine
research
related
to
the
impact
23
of
technology
on
the
cognitive
function
of
students.
The
24
bill
requires
the
working
group
to
provide
a
report
to
the
25
general
assembly
by
December
31,
2022,
detailing
the
working
26
group’s
findings
and
recommendations.
The
report
must
include
27
recommendations
on
best
practices
related
to
the
use
of
28
technology
in
educational
settings.
