RULES.
The
department
of
human
services

shall
amend
its
administrative
rules
pursuant
to
chapter
3
17A
to
provide
that
child
care
centers
maintain
a
minimum
4
child-to-staff
ratio
of
one
child
care
worker
for
every
seven
5
children
who
are
two
years
of
age
and
a
minimum
child-to-staff
6
ratio
of
one
child
care
worker
for
every
ten
children
who
are
7
three
years
of
age.

Sec.
2.
EFFECTIVE
DATE.
This
Act,
being
deemed
of
immediate
9
importance,
takes
effect
upon
enactment.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
relates
to
child
care
center
staff
ratios.

The
bill
directs
the
department
of
human
services
to
amend

its
rules
so
that
child
care
centers
maintain
a
minimum

child-to-staff
ratio
of

child
care
worker
for
every

children
who
are
2
years
of
age
and
1
child
care
worker
for
18
every
10
children
who
are
3
years
of
age.

The
bill
takes
effect
upon
enactment.
