232.142,
subsection
6,
Code
2022,
is

amended
to
read
as
follows:

6.
a.
A
juvenile
detention
home
fund
is
created
in
the
3
state
treasury
under
the
authority
of
the
department.
The
4
fund
shall
consist
of
moneys
deposited
in
the
fund
pursuant
5
to
section
602.8108
.
The
Subject
to
subsection
3,
moneys
in
6
the
fund
shall
be
used
for
the
costs
of
the
establishment,
7
improvement,
operation,
and
maintenance
of
county
or
8
multicounty
juvenile
detention
homes
in
accordance
with
annual
9
appropriations
made
by
the
general
assembly
from
the
fund
10
for
these
purposes
payment
of
costs
on
an
annual
basis
for
11
improvements
to
and
construction
of
county
or
multicounty
12
juvenile
detention
home
facilities
in
an
amount
equal
to
twenty
13
percent
of
the
amount
a
home’s
facilities
depreciated
in
14
value
during
the
previous
fiscal
year.
The
remainder
of
the
15
moneys
in
the
fund
shall
be
allocated
between
such
homes
based
16
on
a
home’s
percentage
of
total
bed
days
for
all
county
or
17
multicounty
juvenile
detention
homes
during
the
previous
fiscal
18
year
.

For
the
purposes
of
this
subsection,
“bed
day”
means
20
the
total
number
of
beds
occupied
at
a
county
or
multicounty
21
juvenile
detention
home
for
a
minimum
of
twelve
hours
per
day.

This
bill
relates
to
the
juvenile
detention
home
fund.

The
bill
requires
that
moneys
in
the
juvenile
detention

home
fund
be
used,
subject
to
certain
limitations,
for
the

payment
of
costs
on
an
annual
basis
for
improvements
to
and
29
construction
of
county
or
multicounty
juvenile
detention
home
30
facilities
in
an
amount
equal
to
20
percent
of
the
amount
a
31
home’s
facilities
depreciated
in
value
during
the
previous
32
fiscal
year.
The
remainder
of
the
moneys
in
the
fund
shall
be

allocated
between
such
homes
based
on
a
home’s
percentage
of

days
for
all
