Section
1.
Section
614.1,
Code
2022,
is
amended
by
adding
1
the
following
new
subsection:

NEW
SUBSECTION
.
11A.
Sexual
abuse
——
minors.
An
action

for
damages
for
injury
suffered
as
a
result
of
sexual
abuse
in
4
the
first
degree
as
defined
in
section
709.2,
sexual
abuse
in
5
the
second
degree
as
defined
in
section
709.3,
or
sexual
abuse
6
in
the
third
degree
as
defined
in
section
709.4
committed
on
7
or
with
a
person
who
was
under
the
age
of
eighteen
years
at
8
the
time
of
the
offense
may
be
commenced
at
any
time
after
the
9
commission
of
the
offense.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
relates
to
the
statute
of
limitations
in
a
civil
14
action
involving
the
sexual
abuse
of
a
minor.
15
The
bill
provides
that
a
civil
action
for
damages
for
sexual
16
abuse
in
the
first,
second,
or
third
degree
committed
on
or
17
with
a
person
who
was
under
the
age
of
eighteen
years
at
the
18
time
of
the
offense
may
be
commenced
at
any
time
after
the
19
commission
of
the
offense.
