135.37,
subsection
4,
paragraph
b,
Code

2022,
is
amended
to
read
as
follows:

b.
Establish
minimum
safety
and
sanitation
criteria
for

the
operation
of
tattooing
establishments.
The
criteria
shall
4
allow
a
person
to
provide
and
consume
food
and
beverages,
5
including
intoxicating
beverages,
at
a
tattoo
establishment
so
6
long
as
food
and
beverages
are
provided
and
consumed
at
least
7
five
feet
from
the
area
where
tattooing
services
are
practiced.

Sec.
2.
EFFECTIVE
DATE.
This
Act,
being
deemed
of
immediate
9
importance,
takes
effect
upon
enactment.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
requires
the
Iowa
department
of
public
health
14
to
establish
safety
and
sanitation
criteria
for
tattooing
15
establishments
that
allow
a
person
to
provide
and
consume
food
16
and
beverages
at
a
tattooing
establishment
so
long
as
the
food
17
and
beverages
are
separated
from
the
area
where
tattooing
18
services
are
practiced
by
a
distance
of
at
least
five
feet.
19
The
bill
takes
effect
upon
enactment.
