S.F. 200 Section 1. OFFICE OF LONG-TERM CARE OMBUDSMAN —— 1 APPROPRIATION. 2 1. There is appropriated from the general fund of the 3 state to the office of long-term care ombudsman for the fiscal 4 year beginning July 1, 2021, and ending June 30, 2022, in 5 addition to any other funds appropriated from the general 6 fund of the state to, and in addition to any other full-time 7 equivalent positions authorized for, the office of long-term 8 care ombudsman, the following amount, or so much thereof as is 9 necessary, to be used for the purposes designated: 10 To increase the number of local long-term care ombudsmen 11 including for salaries, support, administration, maintenance, 12 and miscellaneous purposes: 13 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $ 300,000 14 2. The funding appropriated in this section is in addition 15 to any other funds appropriated from the general fund of the 16 state and any other full-time equivalent positions authorized 17 for local long-term care ombudsmen during the same fiscal 18 year. The funding shall be used to support local ombudsmen in 19 fulfilling their duties pursuant to section 231.42 including 20 to provide the resources necessary to complete site visits and 21 to carry out other duties to protect and improve the health, 22 safety, welfare, and rights of residents and tenants. 23 EXPLANATION 24 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 25 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 26 This bill appropriates funds from the general fund of the 27 state to the office of long-term care ombudsman for fiscal year 28 2021-2022 to the office of long-term care ombudsman to be 29 used to increase the number of local long-term care ombudsmen. 30 The funding appropriated is in addition to any other funds 31 appropriated from the general fund of the state and any other 32 full-time equivalent positions authorized for local long-term 33 care ombudsmen during the same fiscal year.
