There
is

appropriated
from
the
general
fund
of
the
state
to
the

department
of
human
services
for
the
fiscal
year
beginning
July

1,
2021,
and
ending
June
30,
2022,
the
following
amount,
or

much
thereof
as
is
necessary,
to
be
used
for
the
purposes

through
the

Moneys
appropriated
shall
be

by
the
department
for

issuance
of
a
one-time
EBT
card
through
the
state’s
food

assistance
program
to
be
used
by
eligible
individuals
and

households
for
the
purchase
of
take-out
food
from
restaurants

in
Iowa.
The
department
shall
issue
each
EBT
card
in
an
amount
15
not
to
exceed
$20
per
eligible
individual
or
household
member.

This
bill
relates
to
the
electronic
benefits
transfer
(EBT)

program
allowing
eligible
recipients
limited
use
of
food

assistance
benefits
at
restaurants.

The
bill
appropriates
$10
million
for
FY
2021-2022
from
the
23
general
fund
of
the
state
to
the
department
of
human
services
24
for
food
assistance
benefits
provided
through
the
EBT
program
25
established
in
Code
section
234.12A.

Moneys
appropriated
shall
be
used
by
the
department
for
27
the
issuance
of
a

EBT
card
through
the
state’s
food

assistance
program
to
be
used
by
eligible
individuals
and

households
for
the
purchase
of
take-out
food
from
restaurants
