H.F. _____ Section 1. Section 331.604, subsection 3, Code 2021, is 1 amended by adding the following new paragraph: 2 NEW PARAGRAPH . f. The county board of supervisors, on 3 behalf of the county recorder, may amend the county land record 4 information system agreement as necessary to provide for the 5 ongoing implementation of the county land record information 6 system. As used in this paragraph, “county land record 7 information system agreement” means the agreement entered under 8 chapter 28E between the county and the Iowa county recorders 9 association as required by 2005 Iowa Acts, ch. 179, §101. 10 EXPLANATION 11 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 12 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 13 This bill relates to the authority of a county to amend a 14 county land record information system agreement. Current law 15 requires each county to enter into an agreement under Code 16 chapter 28E with the Iowa county recorders association in order 17 to implement the county land record information system. The 18 bill grants a county board of supervisors, on behalf of the 19 county recorder, the authority to amend the county land record 20 information system agreement as necessary to provide for the 21 ongoing implementation of the county land record information 22 system.
