Section 21.8, subsection 1, unnumbered paragraph 1 1, Code 2022, is amended to read as follows: 2 A governmental body may conduct a meeting by electronic 3 means only in circumstances where such a meeting in person is 4 impossible or impractical and only if the governmental body 5 complies with all of the following: 6 EXPLANATION 7 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 8 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 9 This bill relates to electronic meetings of a governmental 10 body under Code chapter 21 (open meetings). The bill allows 11 a governmental body to conduct a meeting by electronic means 12 even when it is possible or practical to conduct the meeting 13 in person if the governmental body complies with certain 14 procedural requirements.
