H.F. _____ Section 1. Section 483A.7, Code 2022, is amended by adding 1 the following new subsection: 2 NEW SUBSECTION . 5. The commission shall authorize a person 3 hunting turkey with a license that authorizes the use of a 4 shotgun to use a caliber .410 shotgun shooting tungsten shot. 5 EXPLANATION 6 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 7 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 8 This bill relates to shotguns that may be used to hunt 9 turkey. Under current rules, a person may hunt turkey during 10 certain times of the year using a shotgun that is not smaller 11 than 20-gauge.
