H.F. _____ Section 1. Section 249A.20A, subsection 11, Code 2022, is 1 amended to read as follows: 2 11. Any savings realized under this section may be used 3 to the extent necessary to pay the costs associated with 4 implementation of this section prior to reversion to the 5 medical assistance program. The department shall report the 6 amount of any savings realized and the amount of any costs paid 7 to the legislative fiscal committee on a quarterly basis. 8 EXPLANATION 9 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 10 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 11 This bill eliminates the required quarterly report by 12 the department of human services to the legislative fiscal 13 committee of any savings realized and the amount of any 14 costs paid through the Medicaid preferred drug list program. 15 The department has revised the process to report program 16 performance. The annual national health expenditure report 17 released by the centers for Medicare and Medicaid services 18 which reflects the results of the new process is posted, 19 annually, on the Iowa Medicaid website. 20 -1- LSB 5423YC (4) 89 pf/rh 1/ 1
