H.F. _____ Section 1. Section 237A.13, Code 2022, is amended by adding 1 the following new subsection: 2 NEW SUBSECTION . 4A. A child care provider shall be allowed 3 to collect from a family participating in the state child care 4 assistance program the difference between the state child care 5 assistance reimbursement rate and the rate the provider would 6 typically charge a private-pay family for child care, provided 7 the child care provider and family agree in writing to such 8 additional payments prior to the provision of the child care. 9 EXPLANATION 10 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 11 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 12 This bill relates to payments to child care providers from 13 families participating in the state child care assistance (CCA) 14 program. 15 The bill allows a child care provider to collect from a 16 family participating in the CCA program the difference between 17 the CCA program reimbursement rate and the rate the provider 18 would typically charge a private-pay family for child care, 19 provided the child care provider and family agree in writing to 20 such additional payments prior to the provision of the child 21 care. 22 -1- LSB 5285YC (1) 89 dg/rh 1/ 1
