H.F. _____ Section 1. NEW SECTION . 239.1 Cooperation with child 1 support enforcement —— supplemental nutrition assistance program 2 eligibility. 3 1. An applicant for supplemental nutrition assistance 4 program benefits shall be required to cooperate with the 5 child support recovery unit as a condition of eligibility as 6 specified in 7 C.F.R. §273.11(o). 7 2. As used in this section: 8 a. “Applicant” means an individual who is applying for 9 supplemental nutrition assistance program benefits in the 10 state. 11 b. “Supplemental nutrition assistance program” means the 12 supplemental nutrition assistance program as defined in 7 13 U.S.C. §2012. 14 EXPLANATION 15 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 16 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 17 This bill requires that an applicant for supplemental 18 nutrition assistance program benefits shall cooperate with the 19 child support recovery unit as a condition of eligibility for 20 supplemental nutrition assistance program benefits. 21 -1- LSB 5530YC (6) 89 pf/rh 1/ 1
