Section
152C.3,
subsection
3,
Code
2021,
is

amended
to
read
as
follows:

massage
therapist
licensed
pursuant
to
this
chapter

shall
be
issued
a
license
number
and
a
license
certificate.
A

license
certificate
issued
pursuant
to
this
subsection
shall

include
a
photograph
of
the
licensee.

amended
by
adding
the
following

subparagraph:

chapter

EXPLANATION

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with
12
the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
relates
to
the
practice
of
massage
therapy.
The
14
bill
requires
a
license
certificate
issued
to
a
licensed
15
massage
therapist
to
include
a
photograph
of
the
licensee.
16
The
bill
also
adds
licensed
massage
therapists
to
the
list
of
17
persons
required
to
report
child
abuse.
By
operation
of
law,
18
such
persons
are
required
to
complete
training
regarding
the
19
identification
and
reporting
of
child
abuse,
and
the
board
of
20
massage
therapy
is
required
to
require
the
completion
of
such
21
training
as
a
condition
of
licensure.
A
person
required
to
22
report
suspected
child
abuse
who
fails
to
do
so
is
civilly
23
liable
for
the
damages
proximately
caused
by
such
a
failure.
