Duane
King
founded
Deaf
Missions
in
1970,

an
Iowa
nonprofit
organization,
and
served
as
the

director
of
Deaf
Missions
for
38
years;
and

WHEREAS,
under
Duane
King’s
guidance,
Deaf
Missions
5
translated
the
Bible
into
American
Sign
Language,
which
6
has
reached
a
million
downloads
and
launched
the
Deaf
7
Missions
Training
Center
to
train
and
equip
deaf
and
8
hard-of-hearing
individuals
to
more
effectively
spread
9
the
Gospel
of
Jesus;
and
10
WHEREAS,
Deaf
Missions
now
impacts
the
lives
of
deaf
11
and
hard-of-hearing
individuals
and
their
families
and
12
friends
in
all
50
states
and
in
more
than
90
countries
13
around
the
world;
and
14
WHEREAS,
Deaf
Missions
is
a
noted
and
respected
15
leader
among
ministries
for
deaf
and
hard-of-hearing
16
people,
and
Deaf
Missions’
outreach
extends
to
more
17
than
60
different
denominations;
and
18
WHEREAS,
Duane
King
was
the
pastor
of
Christ’s
19
Church
for
the
Deaf
located
in
Council
Bluffs,
20
Iowa;
and
21
WHEREAS,
Duane
King
was
the
faithful
husband
of
22
Peggy
King,
the
loving
father
of
a
daughter,
Christine
23
Clausen
Cannon
and
a
son,
JD
King,
and
the
loving

grandfather
of
five
grandchildren,
Isaac
Clausen,
25
Luke
Clausen,
McKenzie
King,
Dakota
King,
and
Kassidy
