H.F. 900 Section 1. Section 139A.8, subsection 4, paragraph b, Code 1 2021, is amended to read as follows: 2 b. The exemptions under this subsection do not apply in 3 times of emergency or epidemic as determined by the state board 4 of health and as declared by the director of public health. 5 EXPLANATION 6 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 7 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 8 This bill provides that if a person receives an exemption 9 from immunization that is otherwise required for the person’s 10 enrollment in any elementary or secondary school or licensed 11 child care center, the exemption also applies to the person 12 during times of emergency or an epidemic. 13 -1- LSB 1292YH (2) 89 pf/rh 1/ 1
