1.
NEW
SECTION
.
331.662
Residency
of
deputy

sheriffs.

A
deputy
sheriff
employed
by
an
office
of
county
sheriff

shall,
by
July
1,
2023,
reside
in
the
county
which
elected

the
county
sheriff.
In
the
case
of
a
multicounty
sheriff,
as
5
provided
for
in
section
331.661,
a
deputy
sheriff
employed
by
a
6
multicounty
sheriff
shall
reside
in
one
of
the
counties
sharing
7
the
services
of
the
county
sheriff.

Residency

police
officers.

A
police
officer
employed
by
a
municipal
police
department

shall,
by
July
1,
2023,
reside
in
the
city
which
the
municipal

police
department
represents.

This
bill
relates
to
residency
requirements
for
deputy

sheriffs
and
police
officers.

The
bill
provides
that
a
deputy
sheriff
employed
by
an
office

of
county
sheriff
shall
reside
in
the
county
which
elected
the

county
sheriff.
In
the
case
of
a
multicounty
sheriff,
a
deputy
20
sheriff
employed
by
a
multicounty
sheriff
shall
reside
in
one
21
of
the
counties
sharing
the
services
of
the
county
sheriff.

The
bill
provides
that
a
police
officer
employed
by
a
23
municipal
police
department
shall
reside
in
the
city
which
the
24
municipal
police
department
represents.
25
The
residency
requirements
for
deputy
sheriffs
and
police
26
officers
must
be
complied
with
by
July
1,
2023.
