H.F. 770 Section 1. Section 272.2, subsection 1, Code 2021, is 1 amended by adding the following new paragraph: 2 NEW PARAGRAPH . c. Rules adopted pursuant to this subsection 3 establishing licensure renewal requirements shall provide that 4 up to half of the units needed for licensure renewal may be 5 earned upon the successful completion of an individualized 6 professional development plan as verified by the supervising 7 licensed evaluator or by successful completion of professional 8 development courses or programs offered by a professional 9 development program licensed by the board, or by a practitioner 10 preparation institution or area education agency approved by 11 the state board of education. 12 EXPLANATION 13 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 14 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 15 This bill requires that rules adopted by the board of 16 educational examiners which establish licensure renewal 17 requirements must provide that up to half of the units needed 18 for licensure renewal may be earned by successfully completing 19 an individualized professional development plan as verified 20 by the supervising licensed evaluator, or by successfully 21 completing professional development courses or programs offered 22 by a professional development program licensed by the board, 23 or by a practitioner preparation institution or area education 24 agency approved by the state board of education. 25 -1- LSB 2570HV (1) 89 kh/jh 1/ 1
