1.
DEPARTMENT
OF

There
is

appropriated
from
the
taxpayer
relief
fund
created
in
section
2
8.57E
to
the
department
of
human
services
for
the
fiscal
year
3
beginning
July
1,
2021,
and
ending
June
30,
2022,
an
amount
4
sufficient
to
pay
for
the
difference
in
raising
the
child
care
5
assistance
program
monthly
income
eligibility
from
one
hundred
6
forty-five
percent
of
the
federal
poverty
level
to
two
hundred
7
percent
of
the
federal
poverty
level.

REQUIREMENTS.
The

department
of
human
services
shall
amend
its
administrative
11
rules
pursuant
to
chapter
17A
to
provide
income
eligibility
12
for
state
child
care
assistance,
according
to
family
size
for
13
children
needing
basic
care,
to
families
whose
nonexempt
gross
14
monthly
income
does
not
exceed
two
hundred
percent
of
the
15
federal
poverty
level.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
relates
to
the
state
child
care
assistance
20
eligibility
requirements,
and
provides
for
an
appropriation.

The
bill
appropriates
from
the
taxpayer
relief
fund
to
the
22
department
of
human
services
for
fiscal
year
2021-2022
an
23
amount
sufficient
to
pay
for
the
difference
in
raising
the
24
child
care
assistance
program
monthly
income
eligibility
from
25
145
percent
of
the
federal
poverty
level
to
200
percent
of
the
26
federal
poverty
level.

The
bill
directs
the
department
of
human
services
to
amend
28
its
administrative
rules
to
raise
the
maximum
monthly
income
29
for
eligibility
in
the
child
care
assistance
program
from
145
30
percent
to
200
percent
of
the
federal
poverty
level.
