profession

subtitle

not
ineligible
because
of
age,

citizenship,
sex,
race,
religion,
marital
status,
or
national

origin,
although
the
application
form
may
require
citizenship

information.

An
applicant
for
a
license
to
practice
a
profession

under
this
subtitle
is
not
eligible
to
receive
a
license
until
10
the
applicant
has
completed
a
course
of
implicit
bias
training
11
approved
by
the
appropriate
licensing
board
or
is
able
to

satisfy
the
appropriate
licensing
board
that
the
applicant
13
received
implicit
bias
training
substantially
similar
to
a
14
course
of
implicit
bias
training
approved
by
the
appropriate
15
licensing
board.

EXPLANATION
17
The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
requires
implicit
bias
training
as
a
condition
of
20
licensure
for
health-related
professionals.

The
bill
provides
that
an
applicant
for
a
license
to
practice
22
a
profession
listed
under
Code
section
147.13
is
not
eligible
23
to
receive
a
license
until
the
applicant
has
completed
a
24
course
of
implicit
bias
training
approved
by
the
applicant’s
25
respective
licensing
board
or
the
applicant
is
able
to
satisfy
26
the
applicant’s
respective
board
that
the
applicant
received
27
implicit
bias
training
substantially
similar
to
a
course
of
28
implicit
bias
training
approved
by
the
applicant’s
respective
29
board.
