H.F. 326 Section 1. NEW SECTION . 279.50B Gender identity 1 instruction. 2 If a school district offers a curriculum that provides 3 instruction or information relating to gender identity, 4 the curriculum must also include educational materials and 5 references to gender dysphoria, the existence of transition 6 regret and detransition, and the potential harm and adverse 7 outcomes of social and medical gender interventions. 8 EXPLANATION 9 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 10 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 11 This bill requires a school district that offers a 12 curriculum which includes instruction or information about 13 gender identity to also include in the curriculum educational 14 materials and references to gender dysphoria, the existence of 15 transition regret and detransition, and the potential harm and 16 adverse outcomes of social and medical gender interventions. 17 -1- LSB 1548YH (2) 89 kh/jh 1/ 1
