Cold
case
investigation
task
1
force.
2
1.
A
state
cold
case
investigation
task
force,
comprised
of
3
law
enforcement
officers
from
various
law
enforcement
agencies,
4
is
created
under
the
control,
direction,
and
supervision
of
the
5
commissioner.
The
task
force
shall,
within
the
capabilities
6
of
the
task
force,
conduct
criminal
investigations
after
7
an
initial
criminal
investigation
has
been
completed
by
8
the
law
enforcement
agency
conducting
the
initial
criminal
9
investigation.
The
task
force
shall
focus
on
investigations
10
related
to
unsolved
murders,
missing
children,
and
missing
11
adults.

The
commissioner
shall
hire
at
least
two
full-time
task
13
force
personnel
to
the
cold
case
investigation
task
force.

3.
The
department
shall
adopt
rules
in
accordance
with
15
chapter
17A
to
administer
this
section.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s

members

the
general

This
bill
establishes
a
cold
case
investigation
task
force

within
the
department
of
public
safety.

The
bill
provides
that
a
state
cold
case
task
force
is
22
created
under
the
control,
direction,
and
supervision
of
the
23
commissioner
of
public
safety.
The
cold
case
investigation
24
task
force
shall,
within
the
capabilities
of
the
task
force,
25
conduct
criminal
investigations
after
an
initial
criminal
26
investigation
has
been
completed
by
the
law
enforcement
agency
27
conducting
the
initial
criminal
investigation.
The
task
force
28
shall
be
comprised
of
law
enforcement
officers
from
various
law
29
enforcement
agencies.
The
bill
specifies
that
the
task
force

shall

on
investigations
related
to

The
bill
provides
that
the
