The

university
of
Iowa
hospitals
and
clinics
shall
offer
an

interview
for
an
available
medical
residency
position
to
any
4
applicant
who
has
a
residency
specialty
in
obstetrics
and
5
gynecology,
psychiatry,
general
surgery,
cardiology,
neurology,
6
or
primary
care
and
who
also
is
a
resident
of
Iowa,
attended
7
and
earned
an
undergraduate
degree
from
an
Iowa
college
or
8
university,
or
attended
and
earned
a
medical
degree
from
a
9
medical
school
in
Iowa.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
requires
the
university
of
Iowa
hospitals

and
clinics
to
