H.F. 261 Section 1. Section 135.166, subsection 2, Code 2021, is 1 amended to read as follows: 2 2. Unless otherwise authorized or required by state or 3 federal law, data collected under this section shall not 4 include the social security number or name of the individual 5 subject of the data. 6 EXPLANATION 7 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 8 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 9 This bill relates to health data collected and used by 10 the department of public health (DPH). Current law directs 11 DPH to enter into a memorandum of understanding with a 12 contractor selected through a request for proposals process 13 to collect, maintain, and disseminate hospital inpatient, 14 outpatient, and ambulatory data. Current law also provides 15 that unless otherwise authorized by state or federal law, the 16 data collected shall not include the social security number 17 of the individual subject of the data.
