amended

adding
the

subparagraph:

(04)
If
the
licensee
is
employed

compensation
in
this
state,
other
than
as
described
in

subparagraph
(3),
the
licensee
may
operate
a
motor
vehicle

during
the
hours
of
5:00
a.m.
to
10:00
p.m.
over
the
most

direct
and
accessible
route
between
the
licensee’s
residence
7
or
school
of
enrollment
and
the
licensee’s
place
of
employment
8
for
purposes
related
to
the
employment,
provided
the
driving
9
distance
between
the
point
of
origin
and
the
destination
is
no
10
more
than
twenty-five
miles.

read
as

service
station

the
purpose
of
refueling,

service
station

the
route

traveling

subparagraph

Under
current
law,
a
person
holding
a
special
minor’s
21
driver’s
license
is
allowed
to
operate
a
motor
vehicle
22
during
the
hours
of
5:00
a.m.
to
10:00
p.m.
between
the
23
licensee’s
residence;
schools
of
enrollment;
bus
stops;
sites,
24
facilities,
or
schools
designated
by
the
licensee’s
district
25
or
school
of
enrollment
for
the
accommodation
of
the
school’s
26
extracurricular
activities;
and
locations
associated
with
a
27
licensee’s
farm
work;
with
certain
limitations.

This
bill
allows
a
person
holding
a
special
minor’s
driver’s
29
license
who
is
employed
for
compensation
in
this
state
to
30
operate
a
motor
vehicle
during
the
hours
of
5:00
a.m.
to
10:00
31
p.m.
over
the
most
direct
and
accessible
route
between
the
32
licensee’s
residence
or
school
of
enrollment
and
the
licensee’s
33
place
of
employment
for
purposes
related
to
the
employment,

provided
the
driving
distance
between
the
point
of
origin
and

the
destination
is
no
more
than

miles.
The
bill
also
allows
1
a
licensee
to
operate
a
motor
vehicle
to
a
service
station
2
along
the
associated
routes.

Under
current
law,
an
application
for
a
special
minor’s
4
driver’s
license
must
be
accompanied
by
a
statement
from
5
the
applicant’s
school
of
enrollment
certifying
that
a
need
6
exists
for
the
license.
The
fact
that
an
applicant
resides
7
at
a
distance
less
than
one
mile
from
the
applicant’s
school
8
of
enrollment
is
prima
facie
evidence
of
the
nonexistence
9
of
necessity
for
the
issuance
of
the
license.
However,
the
10
distance
between
the
applicant’s
residence
and
school
of
11
enrollment
shall
not
be
considered
regarding
the
existence
of
12
a
necessity
if
the
applicant
resides
on
a
farm
or
is
employed
13
for
compensation
on
a
farm.
This
exception
does
not
apply
to
14
persons
employed
for
work
unrelated
to
farming,
as
described
15
in
the
bill.
16
A
violation
of
Code
section
321.194
is
punishable
by
a
17
scheduled
fine
of
$70.
