H.F. 2348 Section 1. Section 321G.4, subsection 4, Code 2022, is 1 amended to read as follows: 2 4. Notwithstanding subsections 1 and 2 , a snowmobile 3 manufactured prior to 1984 twenty-five years old or older may 4 be registered as an antique snowmobile for a one-time fee 5 of twenty-five dollars, which shall exempt the owner from 6 annual registration and fee requirements for that snowmobile. 7 However, if ownership of an antique snowmobile is transferred, 8 the new owner shall register the snowmobile and pay the 9 one-time fee as required under this subsection . An antique 10 snowmobile may be registered with only a signed bill of sale as 11 evidence of ownership. 12 EXPLANATION 13 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 14 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 15 Under current law, the owner of a snowmobile manufactured 16 prior to 1984 may register the snowmobile as an antique. The 17 one-time fee for an antique snowmobile registration is $25 and 18 thereafter the owner of the snowmobile is exempt from other 19 annual registration and fee requirements. 20 This bill authorizes a snowmobile 25 years old or older to be 21 registered as an antique snowmobile. 22 -1- LSB 5117HV (2) 89 th/ns 1/ 1
