H.F. 2278 Section 1. COLLEGE STUDENT AID COMMISSION —— 1 APPROPRIATION. There is appropriated from the general 2 fund of the state to the college student aid commission for the 3 fiscal year beginning July 1, 2022, and ending June 30, 2023, 4 the following amount, or so much thereof as is necessary, to be 5 used for the purposes designated: 6 For the coordination of activities with the Iowa college 7 access network to assist students enrolled in grades nine 8 through twelve in completing the free application for federal 9 student aid: 10 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $ 150,000 11 Notwithstanding section 8.33, moneys appropriated in this 12 section that remain unencumbered or unobligated at the close of 13 the fiscal year shall not revert but shall remain available for 14 expenditure for the purposes designated until the close of the 15 succeeding fiscal year. 16 EXPLANATION 17 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 18 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 19 This bill requires the college student aid commission to 20 coordinate certain specified activities with the Iowa college 21 access network. 22 The bill appropriates $150,000 from the general fund of the 23 state to the college student aid commission for purposes of 24 the coordination of activities with the Iowa college access 25 network to assist students enrolled in grades 9 through 12 in 26 completing the free application for federal student aid.
